<h2><strong>The Seven Step Technique To Make Moringa Powder</strong></h2>
<p data-start="244" data-end="464"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">If you’ve been growing Moringa trees for the past year, chances are they’ve already shot up taller than you. When you’re surrounded by a lush cascade of leaves, it’s the perfect time to <strong data-start="430" data-end="453">make Moringa powder</strong> at home.</span></p>
<p data-start="466" data-end="610"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">This guide will walk you through the whole process — from harvesting and drying to grinding and storing your own nutrient-rich Moringa powder.</span></p>
<h2> </h2>
<h2><span style="font-size: 36pt;">Quick Overview: How to Make Moringa Powder</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong>To make Moringa powder, you will need to follow this process:</strong></span></p>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Remove the branches and wash them.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Dry the branches, either by shade-drying them, sun-drying them, oven-drying them, or by using a dehydrator. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Strip the leaves from the branches and grind them into a powder. </span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Sift the powder and store it!</span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">That&#8217;s the short answer. Let&#8217;s talk about <em>how</em> to do this, though. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Making Moringa Powder is awesome, but if you were looking for just more information on how much Moringa you should take daily, you can check out this article we wrote here: </span></p>

</ul>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Step One: Harvesting the Branches</span></h3>

<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">There are two primary methods for harvesting Moringa tree branches.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">During the summer growth spurt, we opt for the pre-harvest method. A few days before winter sets in, we harvest the rest of the tree. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Pre-Harvest Method</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">We use the pre-harvest method for getting a small amount of the Moringa tree, perhaps for Moringa tea or gifting fresh leaves. Note that you need dried Moringa for making Moringa powder.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-4628 aligncenter" style="font-size: 17px;" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/moringa-1506196_1920-1.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" width="705" height="503" />Simply pick a branch, hold it right at the place where it meets the trunk, and snap it off.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><strong>Ready-to-Harvest Method</strong></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">This is the method we use when we know the frost is about to hit, and/or when we want to harvest all remaining prized Moringa at once.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Grab your gardening shears, an ax, a saw, or any other cutting utensil fit for cutting down the Moringa tree. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 18pt;"><span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span>Start cutting from about 1 meter or 3 feet high to maintain a bushier tree. If you accidentally cut too much, don&#8217;t worry; Moringa is resilient, and it will regrow. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Our best results come from leaving at least a meter of trunk. Wipe off dust or bugs from the leaves with a cloth.</span></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Step Two: Washing the Leaves</span></h3>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Many people skip this step, and even in the most pristine growing conditions will still have some risk of bacterial or pathogenic infection, either from the soil or municipal water from growing the Moringa tree. </span></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><strong>Blanching</strong></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">You&#8217;ll need:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list" style="list-style-type: square;">
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A stove</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A pot of water</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A bowl of ice water</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A strainer/sieve</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A lot of people avoid blanching because they&#8217;re worried that it&#8217;ll dramatically reduce the number of nutrients, antioxidants present, or essential amino acids in their fruits and veggies. Blanching is</span><strong><span style="font-size: 18pt;"> not going to destroy the nutrient profile or cause much nutrient breakdown, even of water-soluble nutrients. Blanching will not sacrifice health benefits.</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Here&#8217;s the process for blanching:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="ul1" style="list-style-type: square;">
<li class="li1"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Boil water in a pot.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Prepare a bowl of ice water.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Immerse branches in boiling water for about 1 minute.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Using a strainer, transfer leaves to ice water.</span></li>
<li class="li1"><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Once cool, pat the leaves dry.</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Step Three: Drying the Leaves</span></h3>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Several methods exists for drying Moringa leaves, each with its pros and cons. </span></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><br />Shade-Drying the Leaves</h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">You will need:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list" style="list-style-type: square;">
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Twine, yarn, or some other type of sturdy string</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A dark, cool spot</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Somewhere to hang the branches, like a crossbeam</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Mosquito netting (optional)</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Take 3-5 branches, and tie them together by the stems.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-4631 aligncenter" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/ben-oil_tree_leaves_marketed_1-1.jpeg?w=1024" alt="" width="526" height="409" /></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Make sure that the branches are fully secured; you&#8217;ll be hanging the bundles upside down, be careful with the small sticks, if they fall, you&#8217;ll need to repeat the washing process. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">One at a time, tie each bundle to a horizontal beam. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">I typically knot a foot-long piece of jute twine around the stem several times, wrap the other end of the jute around a crossbeam, and then tie it again two or three times for good measure.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">If you are unable to individually tie several bundles up to dry upside down, you can also hang up a few yards of mosquito netting and lay the branches out in a single layer.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Your Moringa leaves will take about 3-4 days to shade dry. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Dry leaves will be brittle and papery to the touch.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong>Shade drying will minimize nutrient breakdown by sun-drying.</strong></span></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><strong>How To Sun-Dry Moringa Leaves</strong></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">You will need:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list" style="list-style-type: square;">
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Twine, yarn, or some other type of sturdy string</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A place to hang the leaves, such as a rail or a laundry line</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Take 3-5 branches (3 if the branches are very dense with leaves, 5 if they aren&#8217;t), and tie them together by the stems. Again, make sure that each branch bundle is secured together, and that none will slip off if hung upside down.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-5306 aligncenter" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Sun-Drying-the-Moringa-Leaves-240x300.jpg" alt="Sun Drying the Moringa Leaves" width="349" height="444" /></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">One at a time, tie each bundle to a laundry line, or wherever else you&#8217;ve decided to hang the leaves. Make sure that each bundle is entirely secured.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">In warm, dry weather, it typically takes about 2 days to sun-dry leaves. Once they&#8217;re brittle and delicate to the touch, you can then remove them.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Sun-drying typically results in the <strong>highest loss of nutrients due to direct sunlight</strong>, and you will only get good results if you sun-dry during periods of warm/hot and dry weather.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><strong>How To Dry Moringa Leaves In The Oven</strong></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">You will need:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list" style="list-style-type: square;">
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">An oven capable of maintaining a temperature below 200° F</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A drying tray</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Preheat the oven to 150° F.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Carefully place the trays inside the oven. Do not close the oven door; keep it propped open at least 3-5 inches.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Moringa leaves typically take between 3-4 hours to dry in an oven.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Lower the temperature 10 degrees every hour, and keep lowering it until you reach a temperature of 120°. Once the leaves are brittle and crumble easily, they can be removed.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>

<h4 class="wp-block-heading" id="mce_62"><br /><strong>Dehydrating the Moringa Leaves with a Dehydrator</strong></h4>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">You will need:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list" style="list-style-type: square;">
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A dehydrator</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">That&#8217;s about it</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Make sure to layer your leaves in a single layer, and make sure there&#8217;s enough space above the tray for air to circulate.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">The length of time to dehydrate will vary depending on your specific dehydrator, but you&#8217;ll probably find it pretty similar to the amount of time an oven would take. I normally find 3-4 hours to be the average.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Step Four: Stripping the Leaves</span></h3>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">You will need:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list" style="list-style-type: square;">
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A large bowl or bag in which to place your Moringa leaves</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Once dry, stripping leaves is easy. Pinch one end of the branch between two fingers and squeeze down. Most leaves should easily fall off. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Place leaves in a bowl or bag.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">We&#8217;re nearing the final steps in our guide to making Moringa powder!</span></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Step Five: Grinding the leaves into Powder</span></h3>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">You will need:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list" style="list-style-type: square;">
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Either a mortar &amp; pestle</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Or a high-powered blender, such as a <a href="https://amzn.to/3RSTY4g" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Vitamix</a>, <a href="https://amzn.to/48UEIL1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ninja</a>, or <a href="https://amzn.to/422K5p9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Blendtec</a></span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">I personally have the <a href="https://amzn.to/48UEIL1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Ninja</a> blender and use that to blend my Moringa leaves, and it works perfectly! </span></p>
<p><a href="https://amzn.to/48UEIL1" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-6403 aligncenter" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Ninja-blender-1024x748.jpg" alt="" width="445" height="325" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Ninja-blender-1024x748.jpg 1024w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Ninja-blender-300x219.jpg 300w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Ninja-blender-768x561.jpg 768w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Ninja-blender.jpg 1500w" sizes="(max-width: 445px) 100vw, 445px" /></a></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Take your container of dried leaves and pour a few cupfuls into your blender. You&#8217;ll still get the best results if you don&#8217;t fill the blender past the halfway mark.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Turn your blender on, making sure to use a high setting. Blend the leaves for about 10-20 seconds.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 18pt;">You can also use a mortar &amp; pestle. </span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Grind the Moringa powder as much as you can, and repeat as necessary.</span></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Step Six: Strain the Moringa Powder</span></h3>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">You will need:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list" style="list-style-type: square;">
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A strainer/sieve</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 18pt;">A large bowl</span></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Straining enhances taste. Pour powder through the strainer into the bowl. Shake the sieve to dislodge anything stuck. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">This step ensures smoother powder and removes accidental twigs.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">That&#8217;s it. The last step is just to store it.</span></p>

<h3 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Step Seven: Storing The Moringa Powder</span></h3>

<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Unless you&#8217;ve only made enough Moringa powder to last you a day or two, you&#8217;ll probably want to store the rest of the Moringa leaf powder for future use. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Good news: as long as you store Moringa powder in a cool, dry area, the powder will keep for up to a year, without losing any health benefits.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-4632 aligncenter" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/bottle-close-up-colors-92327-1.jpeg?w=1023" alt="" width="738" height="492" /></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">The emphasis here is on the &#8220;cool, dry area.&#8221; Store your Moringa in airtight containers, or a vacuum sealer.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Mason jars work perfectly, but remember that not every Mason jar is made equal. <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Mason-Bundle-Jar-Opener-Regular/dp/B07G4ZLL5G/" rel="nofollow">These are my favorites</a>, but feel free to do your research! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Seal in those health benefits from your Moringa Oleifera (Miracle Tree or Drumstick Tree)! </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">If you’re not making your own, see my list of the <a href="https://morningardens.com/blogs/morning-digest/best-moringa-powders/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Best Moringa Powders You Can Buy.</a></span></p>

<h2><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Six Hair Benefits that Moringa Has</span></h2>
<h3><span style="font-size: 18pt;">1. Vitamin A</span></h3>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">For many years we’ve known the effects of Vitamin A on hair. The reason that Vitamin A is so good for hair is it helps to strengthen hair and promote its growth. Stimulating cell growth near the scalp increases the growth of someone’s hair exponentially. This is good for us because according to NatureClaim, <a href="https://natureclaim.com/nutrition/info/moringa-leaf/#:~:text=Moringa%20leaves%20also%20contain%20high,mcg%20of%20lutein%20and%20zeaxanthin.">100g of Moringa contains nearly 151% of the Daily Value of Vitamin A</a>. Vitamin A is also good for skin and eyesight, preventing wrinkles and blindness. It also boosts immunity and promotes bone growth. Finally, Vitamin A promotes the production of Sebum. Sebum aids the scalp by creating an oily layer that helps keep the hair healthy. Cool Fact: The sebum on the scalp can be measured with a Sebutape. <a href="https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/12236889/">Check out this medical paper published by the National Library of Medicine for more about Sebum and Sebutape.</a></span></p>
<p class="p1"><strong>Cool Fact:</strong> The sebum on the scalp can be measured with a Sebutape.</p>
<h4><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><em>Note: While vitamin A is beneficial, too much of it can be toxic. Stick to the daily recommendation to avoid any side effects. </em></span></strong></h4>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The recommended daily allowance for adults is 900 micrograms. The upper limit for adults is 3,000 micrograms per day. Too much Vitamin A can cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headaches, and blurred vision. It can also lead to liver damage or osteoporosis if taken over a long period of time.</span></p>
<h3><span style="font-size: 18pt;">2. Vitamin B</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">A key benefit of Moringa is its ability to boost the production of red blood cells. Scalp nourishment is the simple solution to improve hair&#8217;s health and look. Blood carries nutrients and oxygen to the scalp which directly feeds the hair follicles. With more red blood cells, a greater influx of these vital nutrients can expedite hair cell renewal, and hence, a quicker cell turnover. It&#8217;s this increased turnover that can lead to faster hair growth – making the abundance of Vitamin B in Moringa an essential ally in the quest for vibrant, healthy hair.</span></p>
<h3><span style="font-size: 18pt;">3. Vitamin C</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa doesn&#8217;t just match the Vitamin C levels in common fruits; it surpasses them. <span class="s1">In fact, it boasts more than 8 times more</span> <span class="s1">vitamin C than a small orange</span>. But what does this mean for your hair? Within our bodies, free radicals—unstable molecules created during metabolism—pose a risk to our cells, causing oxidative stress which extends to our hair cells. Antioxidants from sources like Vitamin C-rich Moringa come to the rescue by neutralizing these dangerous molecules, thereby safeguarding cellular health. When we consume Moringa, we harness an extraordinary amount of Vitamin C, which empowers us to combat the free radicals that threaten to impede hair growth. This antioxidant action positions Moringa as a superhero in promoting stronger, healthier hair growth.</span></p>
<h3><span style="font-size: 18pt;">4. Vitamin E</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Vitamin E is a fat-soluble antioxidant that helps protect the body from the harmful effects of free radicals, which can lead to cell damage and aging. For hair, Vitamin E&#8217;s antioxidant ability means it can support the scalp by fighting off damaging free radicals from environmental aggressors like UV rays and pollution. This action helps maintain healthy hair follicle function and encourages optimal hair growth.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moreover, Vitamin E is known for its role in blood circulation. Better blood flow equals a more efficient delivery of nutrients to your scalp, nurturing your hair from the root and promoting stronger, healthier growth.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa oleifera doesn’t just offer a modest contribution to your Vitamin E needs—it comes packed with it. The oil extracted from Moringa seeds is rich in tocopherols, compounds that make up Vitamin E.</span></p>
<h3><span style="font-size: 18pt;">5. Iron</span></h3>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa has a ton of iron, allowing it to promote hair growth. This is good because many people are deficient in iron. The main hair benefit of iron is that it helps hair stay true to its natural color, shine, and volume. It also strengthens your hair follicles to prevent baldness and reduces the risk of dandruff. In the same way that Vitamin B helps red blood cells &#8211; iron does the same. Iron works by increasing oxygen levels within the cells to create healthier red blood cells that in return carry more nutrients to different parts of the body. One of these parts is the scalp! A key Moringa hair benefit for iron is mostly on the other side of the coin. Since deficiency of iron is so high (which can lead to anemia) Moringa helps keep your levels up. You can also learn how <a href="https://www.healthline.com/health/anemia">Anemia </a>has been shown to cause hair loss.</span></p>
<h3><span style="font-size: 18pt;">6. Omega 3 Fatty Acids</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Omega-3 fatty acids are polyunsaturated fats that play a crucial role in the body&#8217;s cell structure and are also pivotal for healthy hair growth. Moringa seeds are an excellent plant-based source of Omega-3 fatty acids. Omega-3s contribute to scalp health by their anti-inflammatory properties that can alleviate scalp irritation and dandruff, fostering a better environment for hair growth. </span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Omega-3s help regulate oil production and hydration, keeping hair and scalp moisturized and preventing dry, flaky scalp and dull hair. These fatty acids nourish hair follicles, support hair thickening, and can reduce the rate of hair loss.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-size: 24pt;">DIY Hair Serum Recipe Made With Moringa</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">If you happen to search for &#8220;Moringa + hair,&#8221; prepare to be amazed by jaw-dropping videos showcasing the transformative effects of Moringa hair masks and serums on boosting hair growth and repairing damaged strands. <strong>The secret lies in Moringa oil, a potent elixir rich in antioxidants and amino acids that work harmoniously to stimulate hair growth.</strong></span></p>
<p class="p1"><span class="s1">Luxurious and occlusive, Moringa oil is a beloved addition to hair care formulas for its silky texture. The oil&#8217;s behenyl acid content delivers profound moisture, locking in hydration without leaving a greasy touch.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa oil becomes your hair&#8217;s ally in several ways. Firstly, its antioxidant content tackles free radicals at the root of hair damage, providing a robust defense. The oil is a remarkable source of essential amino acids such as arginine, cystine, cysteine, lysine, and methionine—all contributing to the encouragement of healthy hair growth.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moreover, Moringa oil is packed with vital vitamins and minerals, including iron, B-complex, and zinc. Deficiencies in iron and zinc have long been associated with hair loss and damage. Adequate consumption of these nutrients can nourish your hair, kickstart growth, and repair the damage caused by life&#8217;s challenges, environmental factors, and dietary shortcomings.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Moringa Hair Care Routine</span></h2>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">There are 3 ways you can use Moringa for your hair. </span></strong></p>
<h5><span style="font-size: 18pt;">1. Ingesting Moringa </span></h5>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The leaves of Moringa tree are used in a variety of ways. They can be cooked, dried, and powdered as a spice, or made into tea. Ingesting the Moringa tree is one of the fun parts &#8211; as its flavor is well renowned. It can be used as a vegetable in Asian, Indian, and South Pacific dishes, and some are often used in soups. Moringa is also a little bit thicker and is commonly found in raw sauces such as tamarind, mango chutney, and yogurt. I personally put it in my smoothies in the morning!</span></p>
<h5><span style="font-size: 18pt;">2. Apply it on the skin</span></h5>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Rub Moringa oil on the scalp for a natural hair care solution. <span style="font-family: -apple-system, system-ui, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol';">Moringa oil is a natural, organic hair oil care product that blends well with coconut oil.</span></span></p>
<h5><span style="font-size: 18pt;">3. Make a body butter recipe with Moringa</span></h5>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">There are a ton of great body butter recipes out there, but here&#8217;s one simple enough for beginners: </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"></span></p>
<ul class="wp-block-list">
<li style="list-style-type: none;">
<ul>
<li style="list-style-type: none;">
<ul>
<li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">1/2 cup of shea butter</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">1/2 cup of avocado butter</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">1/4 cup of Moringa oil</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">1/4 cup of almond oil</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">1/8 cup (about 5 teaspoons) of tapioca starch</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">10-20 drops of your favorite essential oil</span></li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
</li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Combine all ingredients except for the essential oils in a cooking pot and heat on medium-low until melted, stirring constantly. Once melted, remove from heat and let sit at room temperature for at least 15 minutes, or until slightly cooled. Then place it in the refrigerator for an hour. By this point, the mixture should be thick, but not hard. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Add your essential oils and then use a hand mixer to combine until the mixture is appropriately fluffy. Then let sit in the refrigerator once more for 10-15 minutes to let it set. Place your butter in jars and keep the lid closed tightly.</span></p>

<h2>Does Moringa have Antibiotic Properties?</h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Numerous studies highlight Moringa&#8217;s antibiotic properties, making it a potential alternative to conventional antibiotics. <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5489788/">In a 2017 study</a> published by <a href="https://www.mdpi.com/">MDPI</a>, several researchers make the point that plant-based antibiotics could become a viable alternative to the mass-produced ones we&#8217;re currently using, and could potentially &#8220;break the resistance among microbes.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">So how does Moringa fit in?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>The role of Moringa in combating bacterial infections is a subject of extensive scientific investigation. Numerous studies have delved into assessing the antibiotic properties of Moringa, consistently yielding affirmative results. In a <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4709887/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">noteworthy 2016 study,</a> Moringa demonstrated its efficacy by combating 13 different types of bacteria, covering nearly 70% of those tested. <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3331240/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Another study</a> underscored the significance of Moringa leaf extract in combating various bacteria, including the notorious E. coli and Staph aureus.</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Dr. Fahey, a distinguished Doctor of Science and assistant professor at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine and School of Public Health, has dedicated decades to the study of Moringa. His comprehensive review integrates data and research from numerous sources, shedding light on the manifold health benefits of Moringa. Recent findings reveal Moringa&#8217;s potential to inhibit Helicobacter pylori, a bacterium implicated in conditions such as peptic ulcers and stomach cancer.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Additional evidence supporting Moringa&#8217;s antibiotic properties comes from a <a href="https://www.hindawi.com/journals/isrn/2014/906843/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">2014 study,</a> where Moringa bark extract, administered at a 40 mL dose, exhibited a significant positive impact in treating urinary tract infections (UTIs), conditions typically managed with antibiotics. <a href="https://www.hindawi.com/journals/isrn/2014/906843/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Another study</a> explored Moringa seeds and leaves also corroborated their antibiotic properties. <a href="https://www.hindawi.com/journals/isrn/2014/906843/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">A third study</a> looked specifically at Moringa leaves in relation to 6 different bacterias, including the notorious E. coli and found that Moringa had a significant antibiotic effect on them. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><span style="font-family: -apple-system, system-ui, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol';">A particularly compelling study, </span><a style="font-family: -apple-system, system-ui, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol';" href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4709887/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">published by BioMed Central,</a><span style="font-family: -apple-system, system-ui, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol';"> delves into the potential of not only Moringa but also passion fruit and arrowleaf elephant ear in addressing multi-drug resistant (MDR) bacteria. These are bacteria that have developed immunity and resistance to many conventional antibiotics, posing a severe threat. The study&#8217;s authors concluded that all three plants, including Moringa, hold promise in controlling MDR bacteria, presenting a potential breakthrough in antibiotic research.</span></span></p>
<h2>When Is The Best Time To Drink Moringa Tea?</h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa tea is best consumed in the morning. Its high antioxidant content aids in immune support, energy boost, and overall well-being. It will also keep you feeling full longer throughout the day. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><a href="https://www.reddit.com/r/nutrition/comments/rcwf9y/moringa_is_really_helping_my_energy_and_mental/">Participants</a> have been feeling the difference almost immediately. When they add in Moringa Tea into their morning ritual, they were able to feel the benefits incredibly quickly.</span></p>
<h2>How should I get Moringa?</h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa can be obtained by growing your own plant or purchasing it.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The Moringa plant is versatile, thriving in various climates and offering leaves rich in protein, vitamin C, calcium, and iron.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">It can grow up to 25 feet in height and can be planted during any season of the year, as long as it is planted in well-drained soil. To learn more about how fast the Moringa tree grows, you can check out this article:</span></p>
<ul>
<li><a href="https://morningardens.com/blogs/morning-digest/how-fast-does-moringa-grow/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>How Fast Does Moringa Grow?</strong></a></li>
</ul>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In America, this root grows very well in Florida and some other southern regions. This is because the soil is dry and the Moringa tree is able to grow and flourish without much water.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">It is a great plant to grow in areas where there is little rainfall because it can still produce leaves even in drought conditions.</span></p>
<h2>Growing vs. Buying A Moringa Tree</h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Growing your own Moringa tree is not as easy as it sounds. It needs a lot of patience, time, and hard work. But if you decide to commit to growing one yourself, it&#8217;s a very rewarding feeling!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Benefits of Growing Moringa at Home:</strong></span></p>
<ol>
<li><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Backyard or Terrace Cultivation:</strong> The flexibility to cultivate Moringa in your backyard or on the terrace provides accessibility and convenience.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Environmental Impact:</strong> Growing Moringa at home contributes to reducing pollution, aligning with eco-friendly practices.</span></li>
<li><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Cost-Effectiveness:</strong> Home cultivation proves to be more cost-effective than buying from the market, offering a sustainable and economical option.</span></li>
</ol>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">However, the challenge of space may arise, particularly when drying the leaves. Sufficient sunlit space is essential, which might pose difficulties based on your housing arrangement.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18.6667px;">If you are interested to learn more about how to plant your own Moringa tree in seven simple steps, check out this article below:</span></p>

Check it out here:</strong></span></p><ul><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong><a href="https://morningardens.com/blogs/morning-digest/how-much-moringa-should-i-take-each-day/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">How Much Moringa Should I Take Each Day?</a></strong></span></li></ul><h3><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Moringa’s Rise in Popularity and Traditional Use</span></h3><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The Moringa tree, with its nutrient-rich properties, has a long history of use in traditional medicine. Recently, there has been a notable increase in the popularity of Moringa as a dietary supplement.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"> People are incorporating Moringa leaves into their diets and consuming Moringa leaf powder, attributing benefits such as increased energy, improved digestion, and potential mood enhancement.</span></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">However, the question remains – is it safe to consume Moringa every day?</span></strong></p><p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-5733" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/45187476_question-asking-and-doubt-concept-1024x683.jpg" alt="A question mark girl" width="650" height="413" /></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Undoubtedly, Moringa stands out for its rich nutrient profile, encompassing vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Scientific studies have indicated its potential to enhance blood sugar control, reduce cholesterol levels, and combat inflammation. There&#8217;s also emerging evidence suggesting a positive impact on cognitive function and mental well-being.</span></p><h3><span style="font-size: 24pt;">What Research Says About Moringa’s Daily Safety</span></h3><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">While labeling something as &#8220;safe&#8221; can be challenging, extensive research has been conducted, including studies where humans were under doctor supervision while consuming Moringa for extended periods. For instance, <a href="https://archive.aessweb.com/index.php/5007/article/view/2702" target="_blank" rel="noopener">one study</a> explored the effects of Moringa Oleifera consumption on anxiety in humans over a week. <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4112252/#:~:text=The%20results%20achieved%20in%20this,the%20form%20of%20topical%20formulation." target="_blank" rel="noopener">Another study</a> involved the application of Moringa Oleifera leaf extract through a topical cream on the face region for three months.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In virtually every human study exploring the impact of Moringa, researchers have utilized powdered Moringa leaves. The studies varied in their focus on different dosage levels. For instance, in one study, participants were administered a single dose of 50 grams <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/232073508_Effect_of_some_Indian_vegetables_on_glucose_and_insulin_response_in_diabetic_subjects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">[Source]</a>.</span></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In another investigation, participants received a daily dosage of 8 grams consistently for 40 days <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/321367616_Effect_of_Moringa_oleifera_Leaf_Capsules_on_Glycemic_Control_in_Therapy-Naive_Type_2_Diabetes_Patients_A_Randomized_Placebo_Controlled_Study" target="_blank" rel="noopener">[Source]</a>. This pattern persists across various studies, with some given lower doses (typically ranging between 4 and 8 grams) over several weeks, while others opt for larger doses given in a single instance.</span></strong></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Remarkably, participants consistently reported no negative side effects. On the contrary, the observed effects were positive, including lowered cholesterol and blood sugar levels.</span></strong></p><p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-5734" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/46003818_wow-sticker-hand-drawn-positive-reaction-label-1024x885.jpg" alt="Wow sign" width="336" height="289" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/46003818_wow-sticker-hand-drawn-positive-reaction-label-1024x885.jpg 1024w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/46003818_wow-sticker-hand-drawn-positive-reaction-label-300x259.jpg 300w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/46003818_wow-sticker-hand-drawn-positive-reaction-label.jpg 1200w" sizes="(max-width: 336px) 100vw, 336px" /></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">A number of other studies have explored the safety of prolonged Moringa use, primarily conducted on rats rather than humans. You can find a selection of these studies <a href="https://morningardens.com/blogs/morning-digest/how-long-does-it-take-for-moringa-to-start-working/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">for review here.</a></span></p><p><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Despite our personal experiences with Moringa for extended periods, if you&#8217;re considering the use of Moringa supplements, we advise you consult with your doctor first. </span></strong></p><h3><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Are </span><span style="font-size: 24pt;">There Side Effects For Taking Moringa Everyday?</span></h3><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">While Moringa is generally considered safe to consume, it is important to be aware of potential side effects:</span></p><ol><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa may lower blood sugar levels, so it is necessary for people with diabetes to monitor their  intake of Moringa supplements.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa can act as a blood thinner, making it advisable for those on blood thinners or with bleeding disorders to avoid its consumption.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Pregnant individuals should refrain from taking Moringa as it may increase the risk of bleeding during childbirth.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa might interfere with the effectiveness of specific medications, encouraging individuals on medication to consult their doctor before using Moringa supplements.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Some individuals may experience allergic reactions to Moringa, emphasizing the importance of testing a small amount before consuming larger quantities.</span></li><li><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Due to its high vitamin and mineral content, excessive consumption of Moringa may lead to issues like nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea. <strong>Hence, consulting a doctor before taking large doses of Moringa is important. </strong></span></li></ol><p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-5735 aligncenter" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/10/48691574_your-health-is-my-business-portrait-of-a-male-doctor-standing-in-a-hospital-corridor-1024x794.jpg" alt="a doctor" width="542" height="411" /></p><h3><span style="font-size: 24pt;">How Much Moringa Is Safe To Take Everyday?</span></h3><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">I&#8217;ll have to crunch the numbers; you can just follow along.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">According to a 2009 study, Moringa aqueous leaf extract doses were considered safe at 2000 mg/kg <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/228730454_Safety_evaluations_of_the_aqueous_extract_of_the_leaves_of_Moringa_oleifera" target="_blank" rel="noopener">[Source].</a></span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Now, an aqueous leaf extract won&#8217;t have an identical chemical profile to the leaf powder commonly used in human studies. Let&#8217;s dive into a thought experiment using this figure.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Starting with 2000 mg/kg, which is equivalent to 2 grams, for simplicity.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Let&#8217;s assume we&#8217;re considering a smaller individual weighing 54 kg (or just under 120 pounds). That person could theoretically consume 108 grams of Moringa without experiencing negative side effects.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">An average size 0 capsule holds about half a gram of powder.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In other words, if you weigh 120 pounds, you could ingest 216 capsules of Moringa powder at once and still be okay.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Please note, even if you weigh 240 pounds and could theoretically consume 432 capsules without issues, it&#8217;s not advisable! Don&#8217;t attempt to eat 216 capsules of anything in a single sitting. It&#8217;s generally not a good idea.</strong></span></p><p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-5639" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/08/47614140_poster-be-careful-on-the-stairs-fall-off-the-stairs-1024x1024.jpg" alt="" width="399" height="408" /></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">As mentioned earlier, the aqueous leaf extract of Moringa will not have the same properties as fresh, dry, or powdered leaves.</span></p><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">It&#8217;s crucial to note that none of the studies mentioned involved force-feeding participants 216 Moringa powder capsules.</span></p><h3><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Is It Safe to Take Moringa Every Day? What Studies Say About Dosage</span></h3><p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The smallest dose found in a study was 4.6 grams. In a 2010 study on patients with Type-2 diabetes, conducted by Nambiar et al. <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/228499971_Impact_of_antioxidants_from_drumstick_leaves_on_the_lipid_profile_of_hyperlipidemics" target="_blank" rel="noopener">[Source]</a>, the treatment group received a daily dose of 4.6 grams over a 50-day period. <h2 class="p3"><strong>Top Benefits of Moringa for Menopause Relief</strong></h2>
<p class="p4">Moringa is believed to offer potential benefits in managing menopausal symptoms through various mechanisms:</p>
<h3 class="p5">1. Phytoestrogens</h3>
<p class="p4">Moringa contains phytoestrogens, plant compounds that resemble the action of Estrogen in the body. This mimicry may help in balancing hormonal fluctuations associated with menopause, potentially alleviating symptoms such as hot flashes and mood swings.</p>
<h3 class="p5">2. Antioxidant Properties</h3>
<p class="p4">The plant is rich in antioxidants, including flavonoids and polyphenols. These antioxidants combat oxidative stress, which tends to increase during menopause, offering potential relief from symptoms and supporting overall well-being.</p>
<h3 class="p5">3. Bone Health</h3>
<p class="p4">Moringa&#8217;s nutrient profile includes calcium and vitamin K, which are essential for maintaining bone health. Menopausal women often face an increased risk of bone-related issues, and the incorporation of Moringa into their diet may contribute to bone density and strength.</p>
<h3 class="p5">4. Cardiovascular Support</h3>
<p class="p4">Moringa may positively affect cardiovascular health, possibly lowering blood pressure and improving lipid profiles. This is particularly relevant for menopausal women who may be at a higher risk of cardiovascular complications.</p>
<h3 class="p5">5. Nutrient Support</h3>
<p class="p1">Moringa is a nutritional powerhouse, providing essential vitamins, minerals, and amino acids. Menopausal women may experience dietary deficiencies, and Moringa can supplement their diet to support overall health during this phase.</p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-6424 size-full" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/menopause-pic-3.jpeg" alt="Moringa tree" width="400" height="292" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/menopause-pic-3.jpeg 400w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/menopause-pic-3-300x219.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p class="p1">It&#8217;s important to note that while some research supports these potential benefits, further studies are needed to understand the extent of Moringa&#8217;s effects on menopause fully. Consultation with healthcare professionals is advised before incorporating Moringa into one&#8217;s routine.</p>

<h2 class="p2">Conclusion</h2>
<p class="p3">Moringa is promising for helping with menopause symptoms due to its unique plant elements. These elements, like phytoestrogens and antioxidants, might help balance hormones during this time. But, it&#8217;s essential to be careful – talking to healthcare professionals to ensure it&#8217;s safe before using Moringa.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<p class="p1">As we learn more about natural ways to deal with menopause, Moringa is becoming an exciting option that needs more exploration for women&#8217;s health during this critical life stage.</p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Scientific studies recommend that pregnant or breastfeeding mothers can safely consume 1 to 2 teaspoons of <a href="https://morningardens.com/blogs/morning-digest/best-moringa-capsules-for-lactation/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moringa powder daily.</a></strong> However, it&#8217;s crucial for them to avoid Moringa root, bark, gum, and flowers during pregnancy due to the potential risk of uterine contractions associated with these parts of the plant.</span></p>
<p>Experts recommend using Moringa powder made from the tree’s leaves.</p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>This article explores how pregnant and breastfeeding individuals have historically used Moringa, examine current research findings, and help you determine whether incorporating Moringa leaves or powder into your diet aligns with your health goals for promoting a healthy lifestyle.</strong></span></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Is Moringa Safe During Pregnancy?</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The culinary use of Moringa leaves has a rich history dating back to times beyond recorded records. Whether ground into powders or incorporated whole into meals, Moringa leaves have been integral to human diets, transcending from India and Africa to global popularity.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">This versatile plant has served as a remedy for various ailments and has become a nutritional resource so potent that doctors and aid workers in numerous countries use it <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/242683596_Phytochemicals_and_uses_of_Moringa_oleifera_leaves_in_Ugandan_rural_communities" target="_blank" rel="noopener">to treat malnourished children and nursing mothers.</a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">For millions of people, including pregnant or nursing mothers, Moringa leaves have been a staple in their daily diet since ancient times. Current research strongly supports this dietary choice as beneficial.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Given that nutrient deficiencies pose significant risks, especially during pregnancy, where certain deficiencies are linked to birth defects, maintaining adequate vitamin and nutrient levels is crucial for overall health. Moringa leaves and powder are rich sources of essential vitamins, minerals, and nutrients, <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/26787970" target="_blank" rel="noopener">including folate/folic acid.</a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moreover, Moringa contributes to warding off high blood pressure, a potential source of <a href="https://www.healthline.com/health/high-blood-pressure-hypertension/during-pregnancy" target="_blank" rel="noopener">complications for both the mother and unborn child.</a> Extensive research consistently supports the safety and positive effects of consuming Moringa leaves during pregnancy, with no studies concluding any negative or harmful side effects.</span></p>

</span></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong><br /></strong>Moringa Safety Tips for Pregnancy: What to Avoid</h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The conflicting information surrounding the use of Moringa Oleifera during pregnancy arises from the potential dangers associated with some less commonly used parts of the &#8220;Miracle tree.&#8221;</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">While many consume Moringa leaf powder safely, experts advise pregnant individuals to avoid the root, bark, gum, and flowers. These less common parts of the plant <a href="https://archive.org/details/in.ernet.dli.2015.126128/page/n9" target="_blank" rel="noopener">contain alkaloids that can be harmful in incorrect doses.</a></span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class=" wp-image-5310 aligncenter" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Avoid-Moringa-Root-Bark-Gum-and-Flowers-300x200.jpg" alt="Avoid Moringa Root, Bark, Gum, and Flowers" width="459" height="306" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Avoid-Moringa-Root-Bark-Gum-and-Flowers-300x200.jpg 300w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Avoid-Moringa-Root-Bark-Gum-and-Flowers-1024x683.jpg 1024w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Avoid-Moringa-Root-Bark-Gum-and-Flowers-768x512.jpg 768w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Avoid-Moringa-Root-Bark-Gum-and-Flowers-1536x1024.jpg 1536w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/Avoid-Moringa-Root-Bark-Gum-and-Flowers-2048x1365.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 459px) 100vw, 459px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Moringa root bark, for example, contains two alkaloids that may trigger uterine contractions. These chemicals increase the risk of complications, especially in early pregnancy. <a href="https://www.tfljournal.org/article.php/20051201124931586" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Traditionally, the flowers, roots, bark, and gum of Moringa have been used as abortifacients.</a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Although most people don’t consume the root or bark, it’s still important to avoid them during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Reputable retailers typically don’t sell these parts, and health professionals discourage their use due to the risks. To stay safe, stick with Moringa leaf or powder for a positive experience with the “Miracle tree.”</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">

</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Moringa Seeds and Pods: Safe Dosage During Pregnancy?</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Researchers haven’t yet confirmed whether pregnant individuals can safely consume Moringa drumsticks or seed oil. While people have traditionally used drumsticks in cooking, these parts don’t contain the same harmful alkaloids found in the root, bark, gum, or flowers.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">However, caution is advised when considering the mature seeds, as they may contain higher concentrations of certain vitamins and minerals compared to the leaves. Taking too much of certain nutrients, like Vitamin A,<a href="https://ods.od.nih.gov/factsheets/VitaminA-HealthProfessional/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> can pose risks during pregnancy.</a> As of now, there is insufficient research to make a clear recommendation regarding the consumption of Moringa drumsticks during pregnancy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">To stay on the safe side, experts advise avoiding Moringa seeds during pregnancy or breastfeeding. While the seeds offer benefits like Vitamin C and cardiovascular support, it’s best to weigh those against the potential risks. Always consult a healthcare provider for personalized guidance.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Can you Take Moringa Leaves While Breastfeeding?</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Yes, it is safe to consume Moringa (drumstick tree) while breastfeeding. Many consider Moringa one of the best natural remedies for boosting milk production. Moringa leaves are rich in various nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids, and antioxidants. Additionally, they contain<a href="https://www.webmd.com/vitamins/ai/ingredientmono-1537/plant-sterols" target="_blank" rel="noopener"> plant sterols, which can help lower cholesterol</a> and increase estrogen levels.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><a href="https://pdfs.semanticscholar.org/75f9/140d1c0d78fe0a3286a542ba80f3b95cd58b.pdf">The plant sterols in Moringa also help increase estrogen</a>, which in turn increases the production of milk. In fact, the United Nations&#8217; Food and Agricultural Organization  recommend Moringa leaves and powder to both pregnant and nursing mothers:</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<blockquote class="wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow">
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Leaves are rich in protein, vitamins A, B and C, and minerals – highly recommended for pregnant and nursing mothers as well as young children.</span></p>
<span style="font-size: 14pt;"><cite><a href="http://www.fao.org/traditional-crops/moringa/en/">Food and Agricultural Organization of the United Nations</a></cite></span></blockquote>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/262917216_Moringa_oleifera_Malunggay_as_a_Galactagogue_for_Breastfeeding_Mothers_A_Systematic_Review_and_Meta-Analysis_of_Randomized_Controlled_Trials" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Several studies</a> suggest that Moringa&#8217;s nutrient-rich profile can double milk production by up to 100%. Most experts consider it safe with minimal to no negative effects. World health organizations also recommend Moringa to nursing mothers. Therefore, based on available data, using Moringa while breastfeeding is considered safe and beneficial.</span></p>
<h2><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Safe Moringa Dosage for Breastfeeding</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Yes, <a href="https://amzn.to/3RVTpqn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moringa</a> is safe for breastfeeding. While it&#8217;s known to increase lactation and is considered beneficial for breastfeeding mothers, some individuals may experience excessive lactation to the point of constant leakage. If you find that Moringa is causing an overwhelming increase in lactation, leading to difficulties such as constant leakage, it is advisable to lower your daily dose of Moringa.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-5309" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/When-Should-I-Avoid-Moringa-Leaves-while-Breastfeeding-300x300.jpg" alt="a pipe that is dripping water" width="300" height="300" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/When-Should-I-Avoid-Moringa-Leaves-while-Breastfeeding-300x300.jpg 300w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/When-Should-I-Avoid-Moringa-Leaves-while-Breastfeeding-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/When-Should-I-Avoid-Moringa-Leaves-while-Breastfeeding-150x150.jpg 150w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/When-Should-I-Avoid-Moringa-Leaves-while-Breastfeeding-768x768.jpg 768w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/When-Should-I-Avoid-Moringa-Leaves-while-Breastfeeding-1536x1536.jpg 1536w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/03/When-Should-I-Avoid-Moringa-Leaves-while-Breastfeeding-2048x2048.jpg 2048w" sizes="(max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Adjusting the dosage based on individual reactions is a common practice, and it&#8217;s essential to find a balance that suits your needs. The goal is to maintain a healthy level of lactation without causing inconvenience or discomfort. If you are experiencing challenges with lactation after taking Moringa, reducing the daily intake may help address the issue.</span></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Is Moringa Safe for Pregnancy?</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Pregnant people and nursing mothers have historically used Moringa leaves, and existing research suggests that, in commonly used doses, Moringa leaves are generally considered safe. However, it is crucial to consult with your doctor before incorporating any supplement into your diet during pregnancy.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Everyone reacts differently to Moringa. A doctor can give advice based on your health. Before purchasing Moringa powder or any supplement, have a discussion with your doctor to ensure that there are no specific reasons for you to avoid or limit Moringa consumption during pregnancy. Taking this precautionary step ensures a safe and informed approach to incorporating Moringa into your diet.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-6485" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/doctor-563428_640.jpg" alt="A doctor's coat" width="424" height="283" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/doctor-563428_640.jpg 640w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/doctor-563428_640-300x200.jpg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 424px) 100vw, 424px" /></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">

</span></p>
<h2><br /><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Taking Moringa Postpartum</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Moringa dosage for pregnancy and breastfeeding</strong> also helps postpartum. It supports blood pressure and weight management. Many postpartum individuals face challenges related to weight gain and energy levels. Adding Moringa to your daily routine can boost both your energy levels and overall well-being.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">One notable benefit is Moringa&#8217;s contribution to addressing iron deficiency, a common concern among new mothers. The rich nutritional content of Moringa makes it a favorable option for those seeking natural alternatives.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">For mothers hesitant about traditional medicine, Moringa can be a potential choice worth considering. The positive experiences and reviews from individuals who have incorporated Moringa into their postpartum routine highlight its potential benefits. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">If you decide to explore this option, we welcome your feedback and hope it contributes positively to your postpartum well-being!</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 36pt;"><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Should I check With My Doctor Before Incorporating Moringa Into My Diet? </span></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: -apple-system, system-ui, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol';">Yes, always consult with your doctor before taking Moringa or any other product during pregnancy.</span></p>
<h2><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Conclusion</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In summary, Moringa stands out as a nutritional powerhouse with benefits ranging from diabetes management to anxiety alleviation. <strong>For pregnant or breastfeeding mothers, a daily intake of 1 to 2 teaspoons of Moringa powder is recommended, avoiding specific parts like root and bark. </strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">While Moringa leaf powder is generally safe, individual reactions vary, emphasizing the importance of consulting with a doctor before use. Postpartum, Moringa offers potential benefits for weight management and energy levels. <p class="p1">Ancient medical traditions, such as Ayurveda and Moringa, are known for their <a href="https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/319916#:~:text=Moringa%2520contains%2520a%2520range%2520of,also%2520have%2520cholesterol%252Dlowering%2520properties."><span class="s1">anti-inflammatory properties</span></a>. Practitioners believe they effectively prevent or treat conditions such as stomach ulcers, <a href="https://morningardens.com/blogs/morning-digest/effects-of-moringa-on-the-liver/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">liver disease</a>, <a href="https://morningardens.com/blogs/morning-digest/moringa-for-kidney-disease/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">kidney damage</a>, fungal infections (like candida), digestive issues, and infections.</p>
<p class="p1"><a href="https://amzn.to/41ZxjYQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moringa oil</a>, widely used, is renowned for aiding liver function and cleaning the body of toxins, including heavy metals. Additionally, it&#8217;s thought to help combat kidney stones, urinary tract infections, constipation, fluid retention (edema), and diarrhea.</p>
<p><a href="https://amzn.to/41ZxjYQ" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-6351" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Moringa-oil-1024x1024.jpg" alt="True Moringa oil" width="254" height="254" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Moringa-oil-1024x1024.jpg 1024w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Moringa-oil-300x300.jpg 300w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Moringa-oil-150x150.jpg 150w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Moringa-oil-768x768.jpg 768w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Moringa-oil.jpg 1500w" sizes="(max-width: 254px) 100vw, 254px" /></a></p>
<h2 class="p1"><b>Scientific Evidence: The Positive Impact of Moringa on Digestive Health</b></h2>
<p class="p2">Research indicates that the fibrous pods of <a href="https://www.mdpi.com/2076-3921/11/2/402"><span class="s1">Moringa</span></a> can aid in digestive health and potentially reduce the risk of colon cancer. They achieve this by encouraging regular bowel movements and maintaining overall gut well-being.</p>
<p class="p2">Additionally, Moringa leaves have been found to have a laxative effect, making them a Moringatial option for relieving constipation. Furthermore, <a href="https://www.medicalnewstoday.com/articles/319916"><span class="s1">research indicates</span></a> that Moringa can reduce stomach acidity by approximately 85%, suggesting a protective effect against peptic ulcers by mitigating the risk of ulcer formation and promoting gastric health.<span class="Apple-converted-space"> </span></p>
<h2 class="p1"><b>Exploring How Moringa Benefits Digestion</b></h2>
<p class="p2">Moringa, a plant known for its diverse <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7915875/"><span class="s1">health benefits</span></a>, offers notable support for indigestion. <strong>Here&#8217;s how Moringa aids digestive health:</strong></p>
<h4 class="p3"><b>High Fiber Content</b></h4>
<p class="p2">Moringa leaves, pods, and seeds contain plenty of dietary fiber. Fiber is crucial for digestion as it helps to bulk up stool, encourage regular bowel movements, and prevent constipation. Consuming Moringa as part of a balanced diet can help support moringa regularity and overall gut health.</p>
<h4 class="p3"><b>Prebiotic Properties</b></h4>
<p class="p2">Moringa contains compounds that act as prebiotics, nourishing beneficial probiotic bacteria in the gut. By supporting a healthy gut flora balance, Moringa improves digestion and nutrient absorption. A thriving gut microbiome is essential for optimal digestive function and overall well-being.</p>
<h4 class="p3"><b>Anti-inflammatory Effects</b></h4>
<p class="p2">Persistent inflammation in the digestive tract can result in different digestive issues. Moringa possesses anti-inflammatory properties attributed to its bioactive compounds, such as flavonoids and polyphenols. By reducing inflammation in the gut, Moringa helps alleviate symptoms associated with digestive conditions and supports overall digestive health.</p>

<h4 class="p1"><b>Antimicrobial Activity</b></h4>
<p class="p2">Moringa exhibits antimicrobial properties, which can help combat harmful bacteria, viruses, and parasites in the digestive tract. By targeting pathogenic microorganisms, Moringa promotes a healthy microbial balance in the gut, preventing gastrointestinal infections and supporting optimal digestion.</p>
<h4 class="p1"><b>Ulcer-Protective Effects</b></h4>
<p class="p2">Peptic ulcers, characterized by open sores in the stomach lining, can disrupt digestion and cause discomfort. Studies have shown that Moringa can reduce stomach acidity, thereby preventing the development of peptic ulcers and promoting gastric health. Moringa&#8217;s ulcer-protective effects contribute to its overall support for digestive well-being.</p>
<h2 class="p3"><b>Conclusion</b></h2>
<p class="p2">Adding <a href="https://morningardens.com/blogs/morning-digest/best-moringa-powders/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Moringa</a> to your diet as a part of a healthy lifestyle can offer significant support for digestion. Whether you take it as a supplement or include it in your meals, Moringa provides a natural and efficient method to boost digestive health and overall wellness. However, consulting with a healthcare professional before making any dietary modifications or starting a supplement regimen is essential to ensure that Moringa suits your specific health needs and objectives.</p>

<h2 class="p1"><b>The Recommended Starting Amount for Moringa</b></h2>
<p>&nbsp;</p>
<p>Nutrition facts are a familiar part of our daily lives, but when it comes to superfoods like Moringa, things get less clear. <strong>How Much Moringa should you take daily?</strong> Unlike packaged snacks with clear labels, Moringa lacks an official FDA-recommended daily value. This leaves many wondering about the right dosage for safe and effective use.</p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In this article, we will be answering this question in more detail. </span></p>
<h3 class="p1"><span style="font-size: 24pt;"><b>How Much Moringa Should I Take Daily?</b></span></h3>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-6496 size-full" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Moringa-for-weight-loss.jpeg" alt="Moringa powder" width="400" height="267" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Moringa-for-weight-loss.jpeg 400w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/01/Moringa-for-weight-loss-300x200.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 400px) 100vw, 400px" /></p>
<p class="p2"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Even though the FDA hasn&#8217;t officially designated a daily value for Moringa, extensive research provides some guidance. <strong>We recommend that Moringa newcomers start with a daily intake of 500 mg to 1 gram. This amount can be gradually increased to a range of 5-15 grams over the course of a few months.</strong></span></p>
<p class="p2"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">More information about Moringa and Moringa&#8217;s daily dosage is below.</span></p>
<p class="p2"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">If you wanted a quick deep-dive into Moringa&#8217;s nutritional facts, here&#8217;s a good article we wrote on it: </span></strong></p>
<ul class="ul1">
<li class="li3"><strong><span class="s1" style="font-size: 14pt;"><a href="https://morningardens.com/blogs/morning-digest/how-nutritious-is-moringa-really-a-moringa-nutrition-factsheet/"><span class="s2">Moringa Nutrition Facts</span></a></span></strong></li>
</ul>
<h3 class="p1"><span style="font-size: 24pt;">How Much Moringa Do People Normally Use?</span></h3>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Over the course of thousands of years, humans have integrated Moringa into their diets, providing us with ample time to experiment with its usage. However, there isn&#8217;t a one-size-fits-all answer to the question of how much Moringa one person should consume. The ideal amount varies depending on the person, the specific recipe, and whether Moringa is being used in the form of leaves, powder, or drumsticks.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;"><strong>Recipes With Moringa Leaves</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><a href="https://www.archanaskitchen.com/murungai-keerai-thogayal-drumstick-leaves-chutney" rel="nofollow">This 4-serving chutney recipe by Archana&#8217;s Kitchen</a>, for example, uses two cups of Moringa leaves, or half a cup per person. <a href="https://www.saffrontrail.com/drumstick-leaves-recipe-dal-moringa-leaves" rel="nofollow">This Dal recipe from Saffron&#8217;s Trail</a> uses 1.5 cups for a 2-person dish or 3/4ths of a cup per person.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">One cup of fresh Moringa leaves, according to the USDA, <a href="https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods/show/11222?fgcd=&amp;manu=&amp;format=&amp;count=&amp;max=25&amp;offset=25&amp;sort=default&amp;order=asc&amp;qlookup=moringa&amp;ds=&amp;qt=&amp;qp=&amp;qa=&amp;qn=&amp;q=&amp;ing=">is about 21 grams</a>. In other words, the Archana&#8217;s Kitchen recipe will give you about 10.5 grams of Moringa per serving. While, the Saffron&#8217;s Trail recipe will give you a little over 16 grams.</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Recipes with Moringa Powder</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Recipes calling for Moringa powder tend to use less. <a href="https://aduna.com/blogs/recipes/53365764-raw-moringa-mint-chocolate-squares" rel="nofollow">This delicious Moringa and mint chocolate squares recipe from Aduna</a> calls for only 2 teaspoons (or about 9.5 grams) and makes 12 chocolate squares; less than a gram of Moringa per square. <a href="https://www.kindearth.net/moringa-superfood-smoothie-with-maca-flax-seed-and-tahini/" rel="nofollow">This gorgeous Moringa smoothie from Kind Earth</a> only uses 1 teaspoon (4.75 grams).</span></p>
<p><strong><span style="font-size: 18pt;">Recipes with Drumsticks</span></strong></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 18pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Recipes that call for drumsticks tend to use more, on the other hand! <a href="https://www.sharmispassions.com/murungakkai-masala-drumstick-curry-recipe/" rel="nofollow">This scrumptious 2-serving drumstick masala recipe from Sharmis Passions</a> uses 5 drumsticks or about 27 grams per serving. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">On the other hand, <a href="https://www.indianhealthyrecipes.com/drumstick-recipe/" rel="nofollow">this potato and Moringa recipe from Indian Healthy Recipes </a>uses 3 (about 33 grams), albeit only for 1 serving.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">How much Moringa you use is going to depend a lot on whether you&#8217;re using fresh leaves, dried ones (though these are much less common in recipes; I tend to use them only in teas), powder, or drumsticks. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">The powder is much more concentrated, so recipes tend to use a lot less. Drumsticks tend not to contain quite as much of the vitamins/minerals/nutrients as the leaves do (with a few exceptions; <a href="https://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/search/list?maxsteps=6&amp;format=&amp;count=&amp;max=25&amp;sort=default&amp;fgcd=&amp;manu=&amp;lfacet=&amp;qlookup=moringa&amp;ds=&amp;qt=&amp;qp=&amp;qa=&amp;qn=&amp;q=&amp;ing=&amp;offset=25&amp;order=asc">check the USDA database here for more information</a>), so most recipes use more.</span></p>
<p><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="aligncenter wp-image-4608" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/moringa-scale-1.jpeg?w=1000" alt="Moringa drumsticks" width="689" height="527" /></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Too much of any vitamin or nutrient (even the really important ones, like calcium or Vitamin A) can actually have negative side effects, and Moringa has lots of vitamins and nutrients! </span></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong><br /></strong><span style="font-size: 24pt;">How Much Moringa is Too Much Moringa Per Day?</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">This question is a really fun one. It also requires a little bit of math. But I&#8217;ll do it for you; you can just follow along and check my work.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In 2009, researchers studying Moringa aqueous leaf extract found that doses were safe up to 2000 mg/kg (or, to simplify, up to 2 grams per kilogram). You can check out the research in more detail <a href="https://www.researchgate.net/publication/228730454_Safety_evaluations_of_the_aqueous_extract_of_the_leaves_of_Moringa_oleifera" target="_blank" rel="noopener">here.</a></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Three years later, <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/22101359">another study went further; </a>they concluded that it wasn&#8217;t until a person started taking 3000 mg/kg before the dose would be dangerous.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Therefore, 3000 mg/kg (or 3 grams per kilogram) is too much, and 2000 mg/kg (2 grams per kilogram) shouldn&#8217;t have negative side effects. But what does that actually mean?</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">For the purposes of this experiment; we&#8217;ll use a small number. Let&#8217;s say we have an adult that weighs 50 kilograms, which is equivalent to about 110 pounds; in other words, someone on the smaller side.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">A safe dose of 2 grams per kilogram means that a 110-pound adult could consume 100 grams of Moringa without suffering any negative side effects. A 200-pound adult could eat 180 grams.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Now, the average 0-sized capsule holds about half a gram of powder. In other words, if you weigh 50 kilograms or 110 pounds, you could eat 200 capsules of Moringa powder in a single sitting and be fine.</span></p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="alignnone wp-image-4610" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/moringa-capsules-1.jpeg?w=1000" alt="Moringa capsules" width="533" height="372" />
<figcaption><br /><em style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: -apple-system, system-ui, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol';"><strong><a href="https://www.morningardens.com/moringa-101/">I&#8217;ve said this before, and I&#8217;ll say it again</a>: please do not eat 200 capsules of Moringa at a time</strong></em><span style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: -apple-system, system-ui, BlinkMacSystemFont, 'Segoe UI', Helvetica, Arial, sans-serif, 'Apple Color Emoji', 'Segoe UI Emoji', 'Segoe UI Symbol';">. Don&#8217;t eat 200 capsules of anything at a time. Even if your capsules are teeny tiny, just don&#8217;t do it. I promise that you&#8217;re not going to enjoy yourself. But theoretically, you could.</span></figcaption>
</figure>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">You would need to eat a ridiculous amount of Moringa a day to eat too much. A small, 50-kilogram adult would need to eat more than 200 capsules. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">You&#8217;d need to eat more than 5 cups of fresh leaves. More than 9 or 10 drumstick pods.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">It&#8217;s absolutely possible to eat too much of any vitamin or mineral. </span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">That&#8217;s the reason we have <a href="https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/books/NBK222879/">Tolerable Upper Intake Levels</a>; to tell us how much Calcium, Vitamin A, and potassium is too much. But luckily for us, &#8220;too much Moringa&#8221; is a large amount; far more than we typically eat.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">There are a few great brands that make organic Moringa capsules, one of which is by <a href="https://amzn.to/3TYxBNx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Pura Vida. </a></span></p>
<p><a href="https://amzn.to/3TYxBNx" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-6405 aligncenter" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Moringa-capsules-757x1024.jpg" alt="" width="294" height="398" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Moringa-capsules-757x1024.jpg 757w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Moringa-capsules-222x300.jpg 222w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Moringa-capsules-768x1039.jpg 768w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Moringa-capsules.jpg 1109w" sizes="(max-width: 294px) 100vw, 294px" /></a></p>
<h2> </h2>
<h2><span style="font-size: 24pt;">How Much Moringa Powder Per Day?</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Remember, Moringa powder is very concentrated.  Because of this, <strong>Moringa Powder Dosage is recommended at 5 to 10 grams a day, with a build-up period to getting to these numbers.</strong></span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">If you want to start slow, I suggest under 500mg. Then gradually increase over a couple of months to get into this range.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">My personal favorite Moringa powder that I use to make Moringa tea is the <a href="https://amzn.to/3RVTpqn" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Organic Moringa Powder by True Moringa.</a> It&#8217;s 100% raw organic Moringa powder (made from Moringa leaves), and has no additives, preservatives or artificial colors. </span></p>
<p><a href="https://amzn.to/3RVTpqn" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" class="wp-image-6369 aligncenter" src="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Organic-moringa-powder-693x1024.jpg" alt="" width="306" height="452" srcset="https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Organic-moringa-powder-693x1024.jpg 693w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Organic-moringa-powder-203x300.jpg 203w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Organic-moringa-powder-768x1135.jpg 768w, https://morningardens.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/09/Organic-moringa-powder.jpg 920w" sizes="(max-width: 306px) 100vw, 306px" /></a></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">I like to make Moringa tea every morning on an empty stomach. I pour one teaspoon of Moringa in boiling water, stir it well and add ginger and mint to give it more of a flavor and it tastes delicious! </span></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong><br /></strong><span style="font-size: 24pt;">So What Do Experts Recommend?</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Because there&#8217;s not currently a standard recommended serving amount for Moringa, you&#8217;ll see recommended serving sizes vary a little. For the most part, though, they do remain pretty consistent.</span></p>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Aduna, another huge distributor of superfoods like Moringa, <a href="https://aduna.com/blogs/learn/moringa-nutritional-table" rel="nofollow">recommends a daily serving of 10 grams</a> (a little under 2 tbsp).</span></p>

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Carrie Waterman, a Ph.D., and researcher at UC Davis who&#8217;s been researching Moringa for 15 years, recommends a daily dose of 5-10 grams for a 150-pound adult. </span><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Most research studies on Moringa have given participants daily doses ranging from 4.6 to 8 grams. </span><span style="font-size: 14pt;">All of these doses are well within the range of safety, and most are pretty analogous to what you see in recipes.</span></p>

<h2><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Moringa Capsules Dosage Per Day</span></h2>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><strong>Since we know we should be taking between 5-10 grams of Moringa per day, this directly ties into how many capsules we would take per day. If our capsules are 500mg, we would need to take between 10-20 capsules per day. If our capsules were 1000mg (1g), we would need to take between 5-10 capsules per day. The amount of Moringa present in your specific brand of capsules will directly influence how many capsules you should take per day.</strong></span></p>

<h2 class="wp-block-heading"><strong><br /></strong><span style="font-size: 24pt;">Conclusion</span></h2>

<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">In Summary, if you&#8217;re new to Moringa, we recommend starting with a small dose. While the majority of people experience significant benefits from Moringa, everyone is unique. It&#8217;s essential to introduce new foods gradually into your diet.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">

</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Begin with a single gram, either added to your lunch or dinner daily or mixed into a smoothie. Stick to this amount for about a week, allowing your body to adjust to this new addition to your diet.</span></p>
<p><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Over the next month or two, you can gradually increase the amount of Moringa you consume. At Morning Gardens, we typically use about 1-2 teaspoons of Moringa per day, equivalent to roughly 5-10 grams. This quantity suits us well, providing the benefits of Moringa&#8217;s antioxidants, nutrients, and vitamins without requiring significant dietary changes.</span></p>
<p class="p1"><span style="font-size: 14pt;">While we recommend these amounts when asked about daily Moringa dosage, it&#8217;s important to take your time in finding the right amount for you. Consult with your doctor, increase doses gradually, and pay attention to your body&#8217;s response.</span></p>
